A Christmas Miracle


So today is Christmas Eve and although I may have not checked every item off of my to-do list, I am feeling EXTREMELY BLESSED TODAY, This Christmas was nothing short of miraculous . This summer my husband ( the breadwinner) lost his job, I started my coaching business due to my job downsizing  and... well life was rough. although things were really tough, My marriage grew closer, my children had more quality time with me and doing well in school, and I have been successful with launching online coaching business.Not only that my ministry is growing stronger and I am planning to teach a summer intensive in 2016. Just the other day,  I went to make a payment on my lay-away ONLY TO FIND THAT SOMEONE FROM THE ANGEL PROGRAM PAID IT many blessings have happened within the last couple of months - it ABSOLUTELY NOTHING SHORT OF MIRACULOUS.

Why should you care ? Well, one of my clients was just telling me how so many people are really suffering all around her. I too, am hearing stories of how people are having a really hard time. Christmas is SOOOOOOOOOO  not about what you can buy it's about what you can give. So this is why I had to GIVE this message to you today. Bring YOUR Faith to the Table

Okay we have survived thanksgiving and secretly trying to recover from all of the food and feelings of STILL FEELING STUFFED. As we make our way back to our fitness routine, perhaps you are already dreading the Christmas parties, the treats  that the kids bring home from school and all of the dinners you are already invited to in the next few weeks. I know how you feel. It seems as if they is a secret mission enforced as soon as you commit to being fit. Although, you may take it as a sign to "start on Monday", let me assure you that there will always be a reason to start later or an "easy to access" excuse to try getting fit after the holidays - After all it a NEW YEAR.  However, you must decide that enough is enough and say that TODAY IS THE DAY that you will turn your life around. If you can believe that Faith has power to turn your situation around, can't that same faith help you push the plate away. After all, faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence not seen...( Hebrews 11:1). You may not see the weight fall off in a week, but you must use your faith as a vehicle to move you forward BEFORE YOU SEE THE CHANGE IN YOUR BODY. You must bring your faith to the table. What does  that mean, you ask ? Bringing your faith to the table involves what I like to call "mind-speak". You have to tell yourself that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and that you are going to make decisions that point towards that truth. Your faith can help you feel satisfied, when you would normally go for seconds. Faith can point out your 'triggers" so you can avoid the urge to eat when you are really not hungry. Your Faith, my friend can help you have self- control as it relates to food. So during this holiday Season, bring your Faith to the Table and reap the reward of enjoying the Holidays with ZERO GUILT.

Does Faith Belong In Fitness

 I believe many times we fail at our fitness goals because we fail to connect with ourselves holistically.We Live in a body, we have a soul and we are a spirit .I've realized that we have to connect fitness on a holistic level in order to see lasting transformation. Any body can do a push up yes, but if you don't BELIEVE YOU CAN GET FIT... YOU WONT. Your body's physical ability is only a piece of the puzzle. For example you soul houses you memories and if you have a dark past- you may struggle with  believing the possibilities. For example, as a woman who has been and seen abusive relationships,I knew healthy love was real, but not sure If I could have it. So one of my struggles when I met my husband was that I didn't even know what to do with the way he loved me. I had to be transformed inside first before I could receive true love. the same is true with anything we do. TRANSFORMATION HAPPENS INSIDE FIRST BEFORE YOU SEE THE RESULTS.

How do we achieve our fitness goals when we haven't had it modeled in our lives. Perhaps you come from a family where healthy lifestyles are not modeled, You have to first build a new circle of friends who can support you on your fitness journey.Feel free to join my online BFit community -IT'S FREE- to get tips support and motivation that can help you reach your personal fitness goals. This does not mean you get rid or your other circles, just don't expect support from people who have not modeled what you are trying to accomplish.

Next you want to start with 1 obvious bad habit that you may have like skipping breakfast or eating late at night. Start to work on that one habit and after you have mastered it, then go to the next one. If you tackle too much too soon it so overwhelming and frustration could set in.

Lastly, get help from a coach or trainer to help you set realistic fitness goals that fit your lifestyle. You will need to have a plan in order to reach your goal, otherwise you will find yourself all over the place with little or no results. coaches and trainers are there to hold you accountable and provide professional advice to help you safely reach your fitness goals. Living healthy is  wealthy living invest in yourself and reap the rewards.

Remember that fitness is a journey you may not get there tomorrow , but with determination, you will arrive at your destination. Until next time... blessings.

Habits that Make You Gain Weight FAST

Eating Less Doesn't mean Skipping Meals

Eating less means eating smaller portions at each meal. We eat nearly 3 times as much as we did 20 years ago.This means we should give  our mothers a break when the made  us "finish our food" .too many calories at one time is too much for our bodies to break down at one time, so the over abundance of food is then stored as fat. This habit is one of the causes of diabetes( a preventative disease) in many cases. Start getting healthier, by simply changing the size of your plate.

Living the Sweet Life

I'm simply in awe of the fact that sugar has not been deemed ILLEGAL. Although the taste is so yummy it is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE.  If you look at many of the boxed foods you will notice sugar to be included in the ingredient list. this is beneficial to the food companies, because if you want more all you have to do is go buy more...hummm. Sugar stimulates your brain like a drug would. You enjoy the taste, the rush, you crash, then you want more. Not only do you want more , but you want more of it.Then if you are trying to live a healthier life, you may even start to feel guilty or like you've failed because you keep EATING THOSE COOKIES, Although you bought the cookies, store bought snacks are made with an  "additive recipe."

The Convenient Food

Pre-packaged foods are PACKED with lots of sodium and other preservatives that has an affect on your body. Studies are now making claims that eating too much of this food , may even cause cancer. foods that are overtly- processed is like putting a foreign object in our digestive system and hoping will treat it as food. Although our bodies are beautiful creations, when we feed it ANYTHING is not ideal. It was created to function  so you can live out your purpose. Love your body - feed it nourishing foods that heal and strengthen.

Okay, before we get started... I know you are saying water... really? Water is a natural resource, It's plain ,it's well- it's water. Well, I agree, water is basic- yet we can't live without it. Many times when it comes to losing weight - we  are NOT USING THIS BASIC RESOURCE to our advantage. I want to share with you a few simple ways you can use water to help you lose weight.

 It Delivers

Water assists in the digestions process which helps to deliver nutrients to the body. the digestion process starts in the mouth- with saliva.When you drink water before each meal ,we not only help with the breaking down of the food for proper digestion, but we also eat less food. So if overeating at each meal is a problem. Drinking water with your meal may help to prevent you from overeating.

Water helps to deliver oxygen to the body. In other words... you have more energy. More energy means being more active.The more active you are, the more calories you are burning. You are breathing better, your heart is pumping and you feel like a rock star, because you are enjoying your fitness workouts more.

Fall Fitness Challenge

This workout is a great way to tighten up your whole body in a lot less time than some fitness routines. In my 14 years of training , I am a witness that it is definitely about the effort you put into the workout that makes the difference. Here's my challenge for you this month... try this workout 2-3 times / week with  at least 30 minutes of 2-3 cardio sessions. YOU MUST DO IT IN AN  HOUR.. This means your workout should  be 5 rounds or 20 minutes with 30 minutes of cardio after. Yummy in Your Flat- Tummy, Protein Shakes

  • 6 cubes of ice 
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Peanut butter
  • 1 cup of milk ( 2%, almond, etc)
  • 1 cup of coffee
  • Blend until smooth
  • Add cinnamon for topping
  • Enjoy right away of store for later

This protein shake recipe is so simple and so delicious, you'll be hooked at first sip. This is a great way to stick to you healthy lifestyle without the mindless snacking that can happen when there is no plan in place. Hope you like it. Top Three Reasons People Fail at Weight Loss

Contrary to popular belief weight loss is NOT just about counting calories. If I stood on a platform all day, I would still fail at emphasizing the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Weight loss is the result of burning calories, and although caloric restriction CAN ENCOURAGE WEIGHT LOSS... it's not that simple.The weight loss industry ( yeah, I know there is actually an industry) pulls on your desire to lose weight by promising quick fixes that you can't maintain and in many cases- not healthy.

I have 15 years in the fitness industry and in my years on training and coaching, I have come up with 3 TOP REASONS why people fail at losing weight. So if you are  ready, here we go.

Setting Unrealistic Goals 

If you have over 20 lbs to lose, you may be thinking of how long it may take to lose the weight and feel overwhelmed. As a result, you began to place  unrealistic expectations on your fitness goals :this can further cause you to overdo it in the gym or under-do it in your nutrition. Instead of looking at how long it would take to reach your fitness goal- make small milestones along the way. For example, If your goal was to lose 50 lbs, Set benchmarks every 3 months. the average women loses 2 lbs /week. In this example,in 3 months you could possible lose 24 lbs. This would mean that you are halfway to your goal. This strategy can actually keep you motivated and not feel overwhelmed.

Build Your Circle

Oftentimes, our unhealthy habits are similar to the people in our circle. This can sometimes become a problem, because your current " circle" has now deemed you as an outsider. Now , don't get me wrong... family and friends should remain in your circle, but you have to now build another circle of people who are trying to live healthier lifestyles. It is not fair to try to convince your friends and family to live a certain way, just because you've had an epiphany . When you build your "fitness circle", they help to keep you motivated; hold you accountable; and give you an idea of what being fit "lives" like. Believe it or not something as simple as packing a lunch for the week may seem foreign for others who order out everyday.

Learn to Love YOUR body

Love is such a powerful powerful, I think oftentimes we don't even know how to really love. Love is a choice- it is an action word. It is NOT based on feelings, expensive gifts, or everything going right in your life. It is a choice to do so EVEN  when everything around is is crazy. For example, did you ever commit to eating healthy only on good days ? Perhaps you made a commitment to eat unhealthy on stressful days... do you get where I am going with this? Eating healthy and working our is a choice to live that way. It does not mean that you won't treat yourself, or that you won't miss a workout
. It means that you have decided that living unhealthy is no longer satisfying to to and you seek healthy and wellness through the means of living a fit lifestyle.  I made my decision to live fit at 11 years old ( I, know- but fitness is who I am).. Have your committed to live a healthy lifestyle... that is LOVING your body. Loving your body is a daily decision to care for the one body you will ever have.
